BLACK STARS COACH OTTO ADDO CALLS FOR HEIGHTENED PLAYER COMMITMENT TO SAFEGUARD GHANA’S UNITY AND PRIDE

Ghana's Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has issued a strong call for greater scrutiny of player commitment to protect the team’s unity and national pride. Speaking on October 15, 2025, in an interview covered by 3SportsGh, Addo emphasized that the country’s football success hinges on the dedication of its players.

"I think Ghana should always have a certain pride. As a country, we need to check the commitment of each player which is very crucial because we have very good unity and we definitely don't want to destroy it by bringing players who don't have commitment," Addo stated.

The coach highlighted the exceptional unity within the squad as a cornerstone of their achievements. His comments signal a proactive approach to team selection, aiming to reinforce the Black Stars’ reputation on the global stage. This comes at a critical time as Ghana gears up for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Addo keen to maintain the team’s competitive edge.

The disqualifications were announced following the vetting process conducted by the Electoral Commission and Vetting Committee. According to a statement released by the committee, the decisions were made in strict adherence to Chapter Five, Article Ten, Clauses (c) and (d) of the GH SCHOOLS SRC Constitution.
