FIVE-MEMBER ROBBERY GANG CONVICTED AND JAILED IN ACCRA

By Osei Nathanael.                Accra, May 26, 2025 The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has successfully arrested, prosecuted, and secured convictions against five members of a robbery gang linked to two major incidents in the region, including the high-profile attack on Jos Bakery in Dome and a separate robbery at ACP Junction. The gang, whose operations sent shockwaves through the suburbs of Accra, was brought to justice through a series of covert police operations. 11 DISQUALIFIED FROM GH SCHOOLS SRC ELECTIONS FOLLOWING VETTING RESULTS

 By Osei Nathanael and Yayra Jemimah  In a dramatic turn of events ahead of the upcoming GH SCHOOLS Students' Representative Council (SRC) elections, 11 aspirants have been disqualified after failing to meet constitutional requirements outlined in the SRC Constitution. The disqualifications were announced following the vetting process conducted by the Electoral Commission and Vetting Committee. According to a statement released by the committee, the decisions were made in strict adherence to Chapter Five, Article Ten, Clauses (c) and (d) of the GH SCHOOLS SRC Constitution. Among those disqualified are two presidential aspirants — Mr. Fred Nana Baffour and Mr. Nathaniel Osei — who were both deemed ineligible under Clause (c). Clause (c) relates specifically to academic or conduct-related criteria that must be satisfied by aspirants vying for executive positions. GHANA CONFIRMS TWO NEW MPOX CASES, TOTAL NOW AT FOUR

The new cases were identified in the Greater Accra and Western regions, according to a press release issued today by the GHS and the Ministry of Health. This announcement follows an earlier update on May 15, 2025. The National Public Health and Reference Laboratory (NPHRL) confirmed the latest cases, which have no known epidemiological link to the previously reported infections, suggesting possible community transmission. Regional Health Directorates have swiftly activated public health measures, including contact tracing, to prevent the virus from spreading further.
